Simple Keys to Finding Happiness in Life

The best way to experience a happy life is to concentrate on three things each and every day. Cultivating love, purpose, and gratitude into as many moments as possible each and every day. Happiness comes from love for self and, as a side-effect, love received from others.


Love is difficult to really experience if you do not really love yourself. It’s like expecting someone to know what broccoli tastes like who’s never tried it. In order to really experience what happiness love can bring, it helps to learn how to love yourself. It really takes one to know one. People share personal emotions and things that are close to them with the ones they love. The idea that no man is an island holds a lot of truth when it comes to finding happiness in life. Even people who seem to be alone yet somehow find happiness have developed love for something. Experience love to cultivate happiness simply means that you hold some dear and valuable to your heart.


No one likes to think that their life is happening in a cipher, endlessly going no where. Of course we feel like this sometimes, but if that feelings continues for too long, life becomes pretty unbearable. Finding purpose in your life gives it meaning and joy. When you fulfill certain tasks for aspects of your life that seem to be in-line with your purpose, happiness is usually the resulting emotion or feeling. Most people deep down want to feel like they matter; that the world is different because they were here. Finding a purpose in life can be difficult but is important to experiencing happiness.


We naturally take care of things we’re grateful for. When thinking of how to find happiness, it often helps to take a different perspective and think about what you’re actually grateful for. It would be a safe bet to say that any person experiencing sincere happiness in their life also has gratitude for parts if not all of their life. Sometimes it can be hard to summon up gratitude, but without it there is little chance of finding happiness. One exercise I like to practice is a gratitude list; it’s easy to do and can be done anywhere at any time. Simply get out a piece of paper and put down numbers 1 through 10. Now, list out ten things you’re grateful for. They can be anything from a full head of hair to eyes to see with. Keep writing until you have ten things on your list. Now put it in your pocket and carry it with you the rest of the day. It helps being able to read right there on paper that you do have things to be grateful for.


To create your happy life, concentrate each day on three things; love, purpose, and gratitude. Instead of concentrating on how to find happiness, focus on creating moments where you’re filled with these three aspects and happiness will find you.
